KELSEYVILLE >> Two matches went the limit on Tuesday afternoon as the Kelseyville Knights fell 4-1 to the Cloverdale Eagles in a Coastal Mountain Conference tennis match at Kelseyville.

Kelseyville’s win came in second doubles where Diamond Maglietta and Bryanna Berger defeated Emily Kummer and Marina Lopez 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).

The Knights pushed the Eagles to three sets in both first and second singles before losing both matches. Luke Pope beat Josh Bridges 7-6 (8-6), 7-5 in No. 1 singles while Derick Rilea topped Bodhi Baired 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 in No. 2 singles.

In third singles, Everett Conway beat Merin Rixn 6-0, 6-0. Cloverdale’s other win came in first doubles where Jordan Persons and Javier Hernandez defeated Garrett Grossner and Kristen Amendola 6-2, 6-1.

“It was a good match,” Kelseyville coach Laurie Martin-Vargas said. “No. 1 and 2 singles we were right in it. We could have won both matches.”

Kelseyville has the rest of the week off for spring break. The Knights return to action next Tuesday in St. Helena at 4 p.m.
