KELSEYVILLE >> Avenging a 3-2 loss to Clear Lake earlier this season in Lakeport, the Kelseyville Knights beat the Cardinals 3-2 in Coastal Mountain Conference tennis action on Friday afternoon in Kelseyville.
“They were totally excited,” Kelseyville coach Laurie Martin-Vargas said of the reaction of her players to beating their archrivals.
Kelseyville won two of the three singles matches and split the two doubles matches. Winners for the Knights were Josh Bridges, 6-1, 6-1 over Bobby Lasher in first singles; Savannah Molloy, 6-1, 7-5 over Simone Celle in third singles; and Kristen Amendola and Garrett Grossner, 6-0, 6-0 over Dylan Bennett and Sereno Dominguez in first doubles.
Clear Lake winners were Scotty Mather, 7-5, 6-1 over Bodhi Baird in second singles, and Lexi Burke and Stacy Partridge, 6-1, 6-1 over Diamond Maglietta and Laurel Weller in second doubles.
In an exhibition doubles match that doesn’t count toward the final team score, Clear Lake’s Lasher and Ian Sammel beat Bryanna Berger and Amelia Weller 6-2, 6-1.
Both teams are home on Tuesday — Kelseyville against Middletown and Clear Lake against Cloverdale.
