LAKEPORT >> Slade Patrick Darrin, 19, of Lakeport — AKA “TwistBit” — is scheduled to exhibit his EDM (electronic dance music) skills at the 12th Annual Bay Area Maker Faire. This marks the fourth year that Darrin, a multi-year Make Magazine Editor’s Blue Ribbon Award winner, has been invited to demonstrate his independently-made music which he creates with digital composition software.

As a result of being a featured participant at the Maker Faire under the moniker of “TwistBit,” Darrin has been asked to perform for the Eastlake Music Festival in Oakland, the Fame Venue on Broadway in San Francisco, and the Maker Faires in both Kansas City and Japan. Additionally, his appearances have lead to being commissioned to compose original music for a tech company commercial and a national dance exhibit in Washington D.C.

The Bay Area Maker Faire weekend-long festivities, billed as “the greatest show & tell on earth” and attended by over 200,000 people, will be held at the San Mateo Event Center on May 19-21.
