Friends of Lake County Library recently approved funds to sponsor a student art mural as part of the Clearlake Youth Public Art Project. The mural will hang outside at the Redbud Library in Clearlake. Pictured are Debbie Zacharisen, representative of the Friends of the Library, and Meg Ziegleder, creative director at the Redbud Library. Both are excited about the idea of having student art work at the library. South county students in grades 6-12 have until May 15 to submit artwork to the Art House Gallery to be included in the May 20 public art show. An on-going portfolio of student work will be maintained on the Art House Gallery’s Facebook page for future artwork submissions so that sponsorships can occur at any time.
