FORT BRAGG >> Bib Hamner clubbed her sixth home run of the season, a three-run shot, and Maddie West added another three-run homer as the Kelseyville Knights dismantled the Fort Bragg Timberwolves 14-1 in North Central League I softball action on Tuesday afternoon in Fort Bragg.

The Knights (10-1 league, 13-3 overall) have gone deep five times in the last two games, both wins.

“This is exactly what we want,” Kelseyville coach Jeff Bour said of the Knights’ hot-hitting ways of late. “We want to score some runs early, play good defense and get the win. We’re confident in our hitting right now.”

Besides the two home runs, the Knights also had two doubles and a triple among their 13 hits in the five-inning game.

West (2-for-3, five RBIs) doubled home two runs during Kelseyville’s three-run second inning and her shot to center field was the big blow during a six-run third inning. Hamner (2-for-4) put the finishing touches on the rout with an opposite-field shot to left-center in the fifth inning.

Tymeka Green (2-for-3, double RBI) and Paige Bour (2-for-3) also had a good day at the plate. Grace Davidson went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Allison Bryant scattered four hits, struck out one and walked three.

The Knights are home Friday to play Middletown at 4 p.m.

In other softball action Tuesday:

Willits 10, Middletown 3

At Middletown, two players accounted for all of Middletown’s hits in a loss to the Willits Wolverines.

Middletown (2-9, 4-14) trailed 2-0 after one inning, 5-0 through three innings and 8-0 after four innings.

“We just came out flat and didn’t wake up until the middle part of the game,” Middletown head coach Barry Glosser said. “By then we were behind by eight runs.”

The Mustangs put their first two runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth and added their final run in the seventh.

Brittney Holt went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for the Mustangs and Aly Ferguson went 2-for-4.

Losing pitcher Olivia Glosser struck out five and walked three while allowing 10 hits.

Middletown travels to league-leading Kelseyville on Friday at 4 p.m.
