
LAKEPORT >> The second points race of the 2017 Ukiah and Lakeport speedways racing season took place Saturday night at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport and featured the Taco Bell Bombers, Pro-4 Modfieds, Legends cars and a special appearance by the North State Modified Series.
Pro-4 Modifieds
Mike Peterson took the checkered flag in the main event ahead of Johnny Barker, Sami Nuno, Marty Lewis and Rick Jelton. Barker drove his No. 14 car to victory in both the trophy dash and heat races.
Legends
Jaden Fisher won the Legends cars main event in his 86 R1, beating Cody Winchel, Dylan Washburn, Carlee Austin and James Stillman to the finish line. Winchel won the heat race and the trophy dash.
Taco Bell Bombers
Kevin Brackett won the main event in the Taco Bell Bombers. Raymond Taylor came in second, Lauren Snider was third and Jeff French finished fourth.
Taylor won the heat race.
North State Modifieds
Darrin Knight of Kelseyville, the two-time defending North State Modified Series points champion, won his second points race of the season. Cody Barber won the Lucas Oil Dash for Cash.
Next race
The next race is May 20 at Ukiah Speedway and will feature Limited Modifieds, the Taco Bell Bombers, Legends cars, Jammers, Bandoleros and Midgets.
Admission fees are $12 for adults, $9 for seniors and students, and $6 for children ages 5-11. A famil pack for $30 admits two adults and three children.
Speedway fans can still purchase the July Party Pack, which includes five nights of racing plus a choice of Independence Day fireworks shows at either Lakeport of Ukiah for $45 for adults, $35 for seniors and students, and $25 for children. Ticket packages are pre-purchase only and can be ordered at Brownpapertickets.com.
