CLEARLAKE >> The Art House Gallery and Children’s Museum of Art and Science (CMAS) are working together on the Wildlife of Clearlake Youth Public Art Project. It is open to all students’ grades from 4 to 12, including home-schooled and special needs students who are in Clearlake, Lower Lake, Spring Valley and Clearlake Oaks areas.

All students will use their creative talents to practice artistic techniques, and refine wildlife identification skills through the creation of original works. This Public Art Project hopes to encourage youth to nurture their interest for the visual arts, expand wildlife awareness in Lake County and add public art in our community.

This is an ongoing project for our community and gallery staff encourage all students to have a chance to participate. They plan to make an impact in our community using youth art to embellish our little cities.

All students are welcome to come to the Art Gallery any time during operating hours to utilize the studio to research and work on their artwork. The gallery will provide art materials.

This public youth project is for free of cost. You can draw as many entries you want. They have extended the deadlines to June 3 so more students can get involved.

On May 20 from 2 to 5 p.m., all students’ entries will be included in the Student Art Show at The Art House Gallery. At this time businesses, individuals and service groups will have the opportunity to view and sponsor or donate to an art board of their choice. Only sponsored art will be reproduced by original youth artist and applied onto framed 4’ x 4’ boards to be professionally mounted onto buildings.
