LAKE COUNTY >> Teams are now forming for Junior Giants Baseball, a non-competitive and free summer baseball program for boys and girls.

You can sign up at gojrgiants.org through Monday or in person Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gard Street School gym, 3980 Gard Street, in Kelseyville.

Junior Giants players learn about confidence, integrity, teamwork and leadership during the summer season.

Coaches are also needed.

If you interested in signing up for a team or volunteering as a coach, call Dan Camacho at 349-2484 or email him at danthewaterman@att.net.

Space is limited and sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis. League play opens June 13.

Barbecue is May 21

NICE >> The 27th annual Harville Beef Barbecue, a fundraiser for Upper Lake High School athletics, takes place May 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Boathouse Restaurant in Nice.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children younger than 12.

The event is sponsored by The Boathouse Restaurant.

Tennis in K’ville

KELSEYVILLE >> Want to improve your tennis game and have some fun?

The Konocti Junior Tennis League meets every Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon throughout the months of April, May and June at the Gard Street tennis courts in Kelseyville

Boys and girls ages 8-18 are welcome to attend free of charge. Players should bring their own drinking water and a hat.

40-9ers play at HVL

HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE >> Members of the 40-9ers Women’s Golf Club played a game called cha cha cha on Thursday at Hidden Valley Lake Golf Course. Each team consisted of three golfers.

The threesome of Roberta Villnow, Elaine Fauser and Sharon Compartore tied the threesome of Debi Braun, Floydean Greenlow and Linda Millard, both with a score of 75.

Third place went to the team of Joy Ryan, Kit Hoss and Barbara Carver with a 77.

Eighteen players participated in the day’s round.
