A warning on Esplanade St. in Lakeport that was necessary only a week ago now seems like a practical joke as Clear Lake slipped below the historic full mark of 7.56 on the Rumsey Gauge for the first time since mid-January. With only a trace of rain recorded for the month, the lake stood at 7.50 on Wednesday afternoon. The Accuweather forecast calls for a high of 79 at Lakeport today, climbing to 90 on Sunday. Long range forecasts call for clear skies. – Dave Faries — Lake County Publishing
