The May 6 Early Educator of the Year Awards took time to recognize the current participants of the new QRIS (Quality Rating and Improvement System) in Lake County. The program is a grant funded project geared towards improving quality and early education in the county.
The program provides coaching to help guide sites and centers that work with children 0-5 towards specific goals they set for themselves. Each site received a certificate honoring their dedication to the program.
“QRIS has been a learning experience and now that the ball is rolling, we wanted to honor the sites that have been with us during this first year,” said Program Coordinator Colleen Campbell. “They have been so flexible and eager to learn, which has made implementing the QRIS program in Lake County a joy”.
The participating sites include:
Burns Valley Preschool
Lower Lake Preschool
Pomo Preschool
East Lake Preschool
Middletown
Lucerne Preschool
Lakeport Preschool
Kelseyville Preschool
The Learning House
Pine Summit Seedlings
Yuba Child Development Center
