
LAKEPORT >> Defending champion Wayne Breazeale of Kelseyville still holds the lead in the pro division through round two of three at the fifth annual California Open at Clear Lake, which is sponsored by WON BASS and hosted by Konocti Vista Casino, Resort and Marina.
The pro-am wraps up today with a 2 p.m. weigh-in at Konocti Vista Casino, Resort and Marina. The winner in the pro division will walk away with a new bass boat package valued at $40,000 and approximately $4,000 in cash.
Breazeale brought 18.27 pounds to the weigh scale on Thursday and has a tournament-leading 48.97 pounds through the first two rounds. On Wednesday, he weighed in 30.70 pounds, including the big fish (10.83 pounds).
Two other Lake County fishermen are also in the top 10 out through round two. John Pearl of Upper Lake is sixth with 37.36 pounds and Carl Keller of Hidden Valley Lake is 10th with 35.30 pounds. In the top 20 are Mark Crutcher of Lakeport, 14th with 34.31 pounds, and Gary Collins of Upper Lake, 20th with 32.01 pounds.
In the amateur division, James Bunker of Martinez leads the way with 43.30 pounds.
There are 86 fishermen entered in both the pro and amateur divisions.
