Kelseyville Community Park Closure

The Kelseyville Community Park will be closed to the public through June 7 for the preparation, installation, and establishment of new grass. The Park apologizes for the inconvenience. For more information contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 707-262-1618

Flags for veterans

VFW Post 2015 needs help from community volunteers to plant flags for veterans. The event will take place at Hartley Cemetery on Friday, May 26 at 9 a.m.

Kiwanis pancake breakfast

Lakeport Kiwanis/4-H Pancake Breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27 at 810 North Main Street in Lakeport. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, ham, sausage and drinks will be prepared by Lakeport Kiwanis and served by Lake County 4-H members. Breakfast tickets are $7.

Craft fair

On Saturday, May 27, the 27th Annual Lakeport Kiwanis Craft Fair will take place during and after the pancake breakfast. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 810 North Main Street in Lakeport. There will be fun for the whole family: Craft Booths, Face Painting, Food Vendors, Kettle Corn, Live Music, and more.

The craft fair continues on Sunday, May 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Libraries to close for holiday

All branches of the Lake County Library system will be closed May 27 to observe Memorial Day. Normal hours at all branches will resume on May 30. Call your local branch if you have any questions.

Even though the library will be closed you can still go online to the library website at http://library.lakecountyca.gov to download ebooks, audiobooks, movies music and magazines. You can also check on your account, renew any items you have checked out or requests books from libraries in Lake, Sonoma and Mendocino to pick up at your local branch when the library does reopen.

Lakeport Library, located at 1425 N. High Street, is normally open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The phone number is 263-8817.

Redbud Library, 14785 Burns Valley Road, Clearlake, is normally open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday noon to 7:00 p.m. The phone number is 994-5115.

Middletown Library, 21256 Washington Street, is normally open Tuesday through Friday 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m., and Saturday 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. The phone number is 987-3674.

Upper Lake Library, 310 Second Street, is normally open Tuesday through Friday 12:00 noon -5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. The phone number is 275-2049.

Wild West Day in Upper Lake

Wild West Day on Main St. in Upper Lake is set for June 3! There are activities for all: Pancake Breakfast, Parade, Street fair, Live music, Dancing, Food, lots of hometown fun!

John Hodge will entertain and Taylor White will bring her Country Heat Zumba! There will be stilt walkers and much more!

The event is supported by Bachelor Valley Grange #667, Upper Lake Odd Fellows #241, Northshore FPD, and Northshore Business Association.

Joe Fernandez serves as Grand Marshal and he will be riding in Ken Barns’ 1931 Model-A Roadster.

Community garage sale

Riviera Heights has scheduled their community garage sale to be held one day only on Saturday June 3. Start time will be at 9 a.m.

Maps will be available throughout the community marking houses which are participating. Call the office (707) 279-2245, and let them know if you wish to be included and they mark your location on the map.

All unsold items must be removed from your front yard by the end of the next day Sunday June 4.

Pizza fundraiser

Kelseyville Senior Center is having a fundraiser at Kelseyville Pizza, 5285 State St. on Wednesday, June 7 from 5 – 8 p.m. The cost is $10 per person for all you can eat pizza. Come join the fun.

Cardboard and duct tape regatta

The Lakeport Yacht Club is presenting the 10th annual Cardboard and Duct Tape Regatta on July 4, with signups starting at 10 a.m. and races starting at 11 a.m.

Groups are: ages 6-12, 13-21 and 21 and over. Boats may be any size but use only cardboard and duct tape. Paddles may be of any material.

Cheaters will be labeled pirates and made to walk the plank! Life jackets required for all.
