Lower Lake High School’s varsity baseball team came up short of winning a championship on the diamond this season but the Trojans are going to be hanging a pennant on the rafters of their gym nonetheless after finishing with the third-highest grade point average among teams competing in Division IV of the North Coast Section. Each year the NCS honors the three schools with the highest GPAs in each sport in all of its divisions with the Scholastic Championship Team Award. The top three teams in Division IV baseball this season are St. Joseph Notre Dame of Alameda (3.21), McKinleyville (2.90) and Lower Lake (2.69). Showing off the pennant they received are Lower Lake team members (from left) Ethan Watson, Antonio Padilla, Jordan McGrath, Eric Graves, Reed Diener, Izzac Carver and Ryan Hallsted.
