LAKEPORT >> Lakeport Speedway fans were treated to a fair share of excitement and a particular brand of mayhem that only the boat races can deliver on Saturday night at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport.

Limited Modifieds, Jammers, the Taco Bell Bombers and the T&T Towing Jalopies joined the boat races on the night’s racing card.

“Fans just kept coming through the gates all night long,” Lakeport Speedway promoter David Furia said. “It was exciting for our drivers to see the stands full of racing fans.”

One of the fan favorites along with the boat races are the T&T Towing Jalopies, according to Furia.

“The Jalopies race on the infield and the cars are just basic cars with some safety measures taken. Anyone who has an old junker around that meets the specifications outlined on our website can enter the Jalopies.”

Jammers

Brandi Robertson won the heat race and main event in the Jammers division. In the main event, she took the checkered flag in front of Tiona Tucker, Raymond Taylor, Danny Helm Sr., and Gene O’Dell Sr.

Among the Jr. Jammers, heat race and main event wins went to David Sanchez.

Limited Modifieds

Jackson Long on the heat race and main event in the Limited Modifieds division. In the main event, it was Long, Ian Elliot, Erick Ray and Donovan Cox.

Bombers

Mike Sullivan swept the heat race and main event. He won the main event in front of Terry Pittman, Trevor Kollenborn and Josh Morrison.

Jalopies

Wayne Hunt won the trophy dash and first heat, Mark Gordon won the second heat, and Brandon Small captured the main event in front Wayne Hunt, David Furia, Brandi Robertson and Jonathan Warren.

Boat races

John Murphy won the boat races in his shark car. John “Cowboy” Moore came in second and Wayne Hunt was third.

Party pack

Racing fans can still purchase the July Party Pack, a ticket package that includes five nights of racing plus a choice of Independence Day fireworks shows at either the Lakeport or Ukiah speedways for a discounted price of $45 for adults, $35 for senior citizens and students, and $25 for children. Ticket packages are pre-purchase only and can be orders at Brownpapertickets.com.

Coming up

Ukiah Speedway hosts monster trucks, boat races and mudd boggs on Friday, and mudd boggs and monster trucks on Saturday. Auto racing continues June 17 at Ukiah Speedway with Limited Modifieds, Pro-4 modifieds, Jammers, Taco Bell Bombers, Legends and bandoleros on the racing card.
