Safety first

Five members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 8-8 of Lake County weighed and fitted 90 youngsters with complimentary life jackets recently. Here flotilla Vice Commander Gary Jolley adjusts new lifejacket on 5 year old Luna Ramirez. Their parents were advised on the proper wearing of the life jackets and advice on keeping youngsters safe in and around the water. This project was made possible by a grant from Wal-Mart in Clearlake and the volunteer members of the flotilla. The flotilla stresses the importance life jackets being worn by everyone who goes boating on the lake. - Contributed photos
