UPPER LAKE >> A Middletown woman suffered major injuries Sunday when the vehicle she was driving rolled down an embankment on Sunday.
California Highway Patrol officers at the scene suspected that Dalleen Luevano was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. She was placed under arrest before being transported by helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
Two other passengers reported only minor to moderate injuries.
Investigators say Luevano, 26, was driving north on Pitney Ridge Road north of Upper Lake in the early morning hours on Sunday. She lost control of her Ford F-350 pickup truck, which veered off the road and careened down a dirt slope.
As the truck skidded down the embankment, it rolled over and slammed into a tree.
Luevano and her passengers were wearing seatbelts at the time.
