BUCKINGHAM >> Craig Fletcher fired a hole-in-one on May 25 while playing the 140-yard, par-3 11th hole at Buckingham Golf and Country Club.
Fletcher used a 6-hybrid to collect his first ace in 55 years of golfing. The shot was witnessed by Norm Rentsch, Chip Bowlin and Alan Mathews.
Fletcher was one of two Buckingham Golf Club members to record an ace during an eight-day span. On May 18, Rentsch fired a hole-in-one on the 188-yard, par-3 sixth hole at Poppy Hills Golf Club while competing in the Northern California Golf Association Zone Qualifier Regionals with partners Mathews, Jesse Santana and Craig Kinser. Rentsch used a 4-hybrid to ace the hole. The shot was witnessed by Santana and two Arbuckle Golf Club members.
