Free lecture on Clear Lake and Mount Konocti
Terry Knight, the outdoor columnist for the Lake County Record-Bee, will speak about the history of Clear Lake and Mount Konocti at the Lake County Library’s Know Lake County lecture on June 17 at 2 p.m.. The free program will be presented at the county library’s Lakeport branch at 1425 N. High Street.
Picnic
The Lake County Historical Society (LCHS) is inviting the community to attend it’s annual Summer Picnic and Pot Luck BBQ on Sunday, June 18, from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the historic Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum in Kelseyville, located at 9921 Soda Bay Rd. (between Kit’s Corner and Clear Lake Riviera.)
The special guest speaker will be Jose “Moke” Simon, the new County Supervisor for District One. Simon’s knowledge of Lake County history will be shared from his own unique perspective during the day.
The event is open to the public, and the cost is $5 per adult, with kids under 18 being free. The LCHS will be providing hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, and beverages. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish, salad, or dessert, but it is not required. As a warm day is expected, cold dishes should be iced. To insure seating, bringing a chair is suggested.
LCHS is one of Lake County’s largest community organizations and is dedicated to the preservation, interpretation, and dissemination of all things related to the history of Lake County. In conjunction with the County of Lake, the LCHS is responsible for the operation, management, and development of the Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum. Membership is $15 per year, or $20 for a family, and people can sign up at the picnic, or go online to LakeCountyHistory.org.

Luncheon Club
Voris Brumfield will be the speaker for the Middletown Luncheon Club on Wednesday June 21. She will share her personal tips for leading a joy-filled life. Voris is the coordinator and a performer for the Battles at the Middletown Mansion, occurring June 24 and 25. She is a 42-year resident of Lake County, she is a past and present leader for many local organizations.
Lunch will be served by the Senior Center at noon at the Middletown Senior Center, 21256 Washington Street. The program will end promptly at 1 p.m.. For only $5 per person, enjoy a meal of Chicken Stir Fry, Veggies Chow Mein, and fresh fruit.

Pig Roast
The Kelseyville Lions will host a new fundraiser on June 24 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $25. To purchase a ticket see a Kelseyville Lions member or call 349-2358. The location is the Kelseyville Lion Club at 4335 Sylar Lane, Kelseyville. There will be a 50/50 raffle and some silent auction items. Meal consists of pig, beans, salad, garlic bread and dessert.
Proceeds will help the Club continue community activities and upkeep of their building.
Lower Lake Museum Board Meeting
The Lower Lake Historical School Preservation Committee will hold its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 27 at 12:30 p.m. in the Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum in Lower Lake. There will be the election of officers, a short order of business, a review of the annual report, and a discussion of ideas for the future of the Schoolhouse Museum. A light lunch will be served. All you can eat pizza
A fundraiser to benefit the Elder Day Care Services in Clearlake will be held on Wednesday June 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All you can eat pizza for $8 each and a 50/50 drawing will be available. The pizza party takes place at D.J.’s Pizza in Lower Lake. EDC specializes in helping adults with memory and cognitive impairments. They meet on Tuesday and Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Clearlake from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Participants are given a light breakfast and lunch and enjoy activities during the program consisting of games, exercise, crafts and music. This allows the caregiver six hours of time to attend to other responsibilities while their loved one is cared for at the center.
