MIDDLETOWN >> Over the weekend, on Saturday at approximately 5:35 p.m. a man lost control of his car and crashed into a tree due to driving under the influence.
The man, identified as Terry Bopp, Jr. was driving at an unknown high rate of speed on Butts Canyon Road, east of Black Oak Drive. Because of Bopp’s level of intoxication, he was unable to properly manuver the car on a right curve in the road.
As a result, the 28 year-old man lost control of his 1997 Honda and slid sideways into a tree. No other vehicles were involved in the collision, according to California Highway Patrol officials.
Bopp was then in need of immediate medical attention due to the violent nature of the collision. He was air lifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. At this point, there are no updates on the injuries.
Alcohol was a factor in this collision. There were no passengers in Bopp’s vehicle at the time of the collision.
