ROSEVILLE >> The top four drivers in the North State Modified Series point standings are within 16 points of each other as race No. 5 of the 2017 season takes place Saturday night at the All American Speedway in Roseville.
Two-time defending series champion Darrin Knight of Kelseyville currently sits atop the standings with 264 points while Darrin Sullivan, also of Kelseyville, is close behind at 255. Next in line are Charlie Collins with 254 and Erick Johnson with 248. Bryan Denton rounds out the top five with 228.
Pits open at noon Saturda and practice begins at 2 p.m. following by qualifying at 5 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.
The winner of Saturday’s 60-lap Sinister Diesel Summer Sizzler receives $1,250 out of a purse that pays down to 24th place. The top 15 in points following tonight’s race are also eligible for the Lucas Oil Tow Money Program that helps drivers with the cost of transporting their cars to and from the track. The top 10 in points receive $200 while 11th through 15th receive $100.

After Saturday’s race in Roseville, the North State Modified Series visits Ukiah on July 8, the Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka on July 22, and returns to Ukiah again on Aug. 19. The series runs through Oct. 14.
