A rare concert of guitar music from six continents will be presented by renowned acoustic guitar virtuosos Aaron Larget-Caplan and Peter Janson at Willits Community Theatre on Friday, June 30 at 8 p.m.
Their show features music from around the world—from ancient ballads to contemporary masterworks—while their playing crosses genres and styles from Americana to classical, flamenco to world-jazz-fusion. Considered among America’s top acoustic guitarists, Larget-Caplan and Janson both perform solos, and also guitar duets. With the highest level of artistry, technical mastery, and emotive qualities, their work reveals a mutual devotion to the heart, soul and inspiration that comes from evoking such a rich variety of human cultures. The two guitarists blend their technical mastery with a heartfelt spirit to create an unforgettable experience for their audiences. Larget-Caplan is noted for his “astounding technical proficiency and artistic delicacy,” according to the Boston Music Intelligencer.
As an international touring and recording artist, he has performed solo and chamber music in Russia, Europe and across the United States. Janson is an award-winning contemporary finger-style acoustic guitarist, composer, and music educator. His playing fuses jazz, classical and Celtic folk styles. He has performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Healdsburg Guitar Festival, the Argenta Acoustic Music Series in Little Rock, the WUMB Music Festival in Boston, and many other venues in more than 130 cities and towns across North America.
