LAKE COUNTY >> The Lakeport Speedway roared back to life on Saturday night with the Limited Modifieds, Taco Bell bombers, Pro Jammers, Jr. Jammers, Legends and Jalopies all in action on the quarter-mile paved oval at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport.
Limited Modifieds
Erick Ray of Orangevale won the main event in the Limited Modifieds division, taking the checkered flag in front of Kelseyville drivers Donovan Cox and Jackson Long, Ian Elliot of Lakeport and Bradley Brackett of Upper Lake.
Brackett won the heat race.
Taco Bell bombers
Mike Sullivan of Kelseyville crossed the finish line first in the Taco Bell bombers feature race. Next across the line were Raymond Taylor and Corey James of Laytonville and Josh Moorison and Robert Gilbert of Clearlake.
Taylor won the heat race.
Pro Jammers
Dave Robers of Ukiah won the main event in the Pro Jammers division, finishing ahead of Raymond Taylor Jr. of Laytonville, Dennis Anderson of Willits, Tiona Tucker of Ukiah and Michelle O’Dell of Kelseyville.
Taylor Jr. won the heat race.
Legends
Jadon Fisher topped the field in the Legends feature race. Darrick Crayford of Santa Rosa came in second, Colby Furia of Cloverdale was third, Kylie Daniels of Fort Bragg came in fourth, and James Stillman of Upper Lake was fifth.
Fisher also won the heat race.
Jalopies
Dave Tyrell of Upper Lake won the Jalopies main event in front of Bobbie Trimmer of Upper Lake, Johnathan Warren of Clearlake, Harley Tarrant of Upper Lake, and Brandi Robertson of Lakeport.
Wayne Hunt won the first heat race and Trimmer won the seconnd.
Jr. Jammers
Christian Sanchez of Kelseyville won the main event and heat race in the Jr. Jammers division.
Schedule
Racing fans can get a double dose of fireworks action this weekend as the Lakeport Speedway and Ukiah Speedway are each hosting racing and fireworks shows to celebrate the Fourth of July. Action begins Saturday night at Lakeport with the annual Kelseyville Lumber Deake Lyndall Memorial and continues Sunday night at Ukiah. Gates open at both locations at 3:30 p.m. and racing begins at 5 p.m. with the fireworks to follow. Tickets for both shows are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and students, and $8 for children ages 6-11. Children 5 and younger are free.
