Lower Lake Community United Methodist Church holds Bible Study each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., in the Social Hall at 16255 Second Street, Lower Lake. All are welcome. We are studying “Why People Don’t Believe,” by Paul Chamberlain.
Confronting “Seven Challenges” to Christian Faith. This author addresses topics such as; The Power of Religion, Reason to Fear, Is Christianity Irrational and Devoid of Evidence? And Living the way Jesus Calls Us to Live. Some believe, as Sam Harris, The End of Faith may represent a step forward for the human race. Richard Dawkins, British evolutionist and atheist describes God as “arguably the most unpleasant character.”
Mr. Chamberlain’s ability to address objections, denials and explain the need for people of faith to hear and truly understand the concerns and challenges raised against religion. He states “we simply must get to the bottom of what it is about religion and faith that stirs such resistance and passion in some people.”
Paul chooses he right seven challenges to faith, his detailed responses are creative, centering on frontline issues on religion producing evil in our world, as quoted by Liberty University and theological Seminary professor, Gary R. Habermas.
