CLEARLAKE OAKS >> Only the band was singing the blues on Saturday as a sold out crowd sampled — and voted on — some of Lake County’s best wines.

Red, White and Blues, presented by the Lake County Winery Association, featured a blind tasting of bottles selected during an earlier professional tasting. Guests were invited to vote on their favorites in several categories. Once voting concluded, the wrappers came off and wine continued to pour.

Gregory Graham and Brassfield carried two categories each. Brassfield, Gregory Graham and Boatique claimed “Best” honors.

Judges selected wines from 18 local wineries for the event. Four varietals each from Gregory Graham and Brassfield made the cut. Shannon Ridge and Wildhurst each presented three. Others with multiple entries included Boatique, Chacewater, Mt. Konocti, R Vineyards, Cache Creek, Fore Family and Beaver Creek.

The event, which replaced the old People’s Choice Awards, was hosted by Brassfield Estate & Winery.
