LAKEPORT >> Ezequiel Junior Bravo is scheduled to enter a plea at the Lake County Superior Court this morning on murder charges.
Bravo heard the indictment against him during a recent court appearance, during which the court appointed attorney Anakalia Sullivan to represent the defendant.
Bravo, 24, faces three counts of murder, among other charges, for his alleged involvement in a shooting last November that left one dead and three wounded in the Elem Colony at Clearlake Oaks.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office investigators say Bravo entered a home in the Elem Colony around 2:15 a.m. on Nov. 28 armed with a shotgun. He allegedly opened fire and fled the scene.
When deputies arrived they found a woman dead from an apparent gunshot wound. A man and a 6-year-old child suffered wounds to the arm. A fourth victim, a female, was also hit and transported herself to the hospital.
Clearlake Police officers arrested Bravo several hours later at Pomo Elementary School in Clearlake.
During the arraignment a copy of the indictment was given to Defense Attorney Mitchell Hauptman who appeared with Bravo until the court appointed a defense attorney. Judge Stephen Hedstrom presided over the hearing.
The entry of plea hearing is schedule for 8:15 a.m. today in Department 4.
The defendant is ordered to be present.
No contest plea in taser assault
Patricia Kathleen Dail pled no contest for a bizarre taser assault incident during a recent hearing at the Lake County Superior Court as the parties entered into a sentencing agreement.
The 51-year-old Lucerne woman is charged with two counts of assault with a taser and two counts of threats to commit a crime, but it is contemplated that one count of assault with a taser and both counts of threats to commit a crime will be dismissed due to Dail’s no contest plea.
The charges are a result of an incident this month when deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to Alpine Park in Lucerne, finding several people detaining Dail.
Two female victims told deputies that Dail had used a taser on them. Deputies also noted faint markings on one victim’s neck they believed were consistent with a taser strike.
After witnesses grabbed hold of Dail and took the device she allegedly made threats that she would have someone kill them.
Dail maintained at the time that a group of “unknown people” had called her down to Alpine Park. She alleges that the group threatened her. In response, Dail allegedly informed them that she would defend herself if they continued.
She told investigators that she activated the device and accidently hit the victims.
The matter has referred to the Probation Department for the preparation of a sentencing report and recommendation.
By the stipulation of both parties, Dail is released on her signed promise to appear.
The sentencing hearing is set for July 31 at 1:30 p.m. in Department 3 and the defendant is ordered to be present.
