KELSEYVILLE >> The Lake County Fishing Club held a tournament last month out of County Park near Kelseyville and it was Sam West and Andrew Moolira taking top honors in the high school division with a five-fish limit of 21.30 pounds, including a 8.68-pound big fish caught by West.
Second place went to Tyler Soderstrom and Andt Owen of the visiting Bulldog Bass Anglers out of Turlock with 17.76 pounds, including a big fish of 5.89 pounds.
Jason Gentle and Nathan Phillips of the Lake County Fishing Club came in third with 13.68 pounds, including a big fish of 4.16 pounds.
In the Juniors category, Jake Keithly of the Lake County Fishing Club finished first with a five-fish limit of 17.20 pounds, topped by a 6.93-pound big fish. Lake County Fishing Club teammates Russell White (11.50 pounds) and Tyler Bryant (10.96 pounds) came in second and third, respectively.
Clearlake Outdoors of Lakeport provided the holding tank and weigh scale and also donated raffle prizes as did Clearlake Bait and Tackle of Clearlake. Money raised from the raffle allows the Lake County Fishing Club to hold additional tournaments.
The Lake County Fishing Club will hold its next tournament on Sunday at County Park. On Nov. 5, the Lake County Fishing Club will host a tournament out of Redbud Park in Clearlake that includes clubs from throughout the state.
