EMPIRE COLLEGE
Jasmin Miranda-Ferrari and Jennifer Stefani of Lake County graduated from Empire College at commencement exercises on Thursday evening, June 15, 2017 at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts.
Miranda-Ferrari, a 2014 graduate of Middletown High School, graduated with President’s Honors from the Medical Billing and Coding Technician program. She is the daughter of Jesus Miranda and Carmen Ferrari of Middletown.
Stefani, a 2010 graduate of Clear Lake High School, graduated from the Legal Secretary program. She is the daughter of Clint Gerber of Stockton.

OREGON STATE
Oregon State University held its 148th commencement on Saturday, June 17, at Reser Stadium on the Corvallis campus. Among the graduates was Gustavo Barajas-Muÿoz of Kelseyville, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences.
The commencement speaker was Hüsnü M. Özyeğin, who headed to Oregon State University in 1963 with only $100 in his pocket and graduated to become a highly successful business leader and philanthropist in Turkey and throughout Europe.
OSU is one of the few large universities in the nation to hand out students’ actual diplomas during the commencement ceremony.
