Venus Williams has rarely looked better than she has in her 20th Wimbledon tournament.
On Thursday, the five-time Wimbledon champion hardly looked like she was 37 years old, defeating sixth-seeded Johanna Konta 6-4, 6-2 to advance to her 10th final and her first since 2009 at the All England Club.
Seeded 10th, Williams came into the match 8-1 in her previous nine semifinal appearances at the grass-court major. On Saturday, she will play for her first Wimbledon championship since 2008 when she takes on 14th-seeded Garbine Muguruza, who advanced to the final by beating Magdalena Rybarikova 6-1, 6-1 on Centre Court.
Konta, born in Sydney, Australia, but a resident of Eastbourne, England, was playing in her first Wimbledon semifinal.
