KELSEYVILLE >> After posting a 13-0 record during the 2017 high school baseball season, Kelseyville High School graduate Logan Barrick, who is headed to Sierra College in Rocklin, has been named to the CalHiSports.com Small Schools First Team as a pitcher.
Barrick’s 13 wins in a single season broke the old Lake County mark of 12 held by both Barrick (2016) and Kelseyville’s Gary Burns (1988). Converted to a pitcher during his sophomore season with the Knights, the hard-throwing Barrick went on to compile a varsity career record of 30-6 (.833), which is more wins than any county player has recorded going back to at least 1970.
This past season he appeared in 16 games, started 14 and went the distance in 10. His only two relief appearances resulted in saves. Barrick struck out 109 batters in 93 2/3 innings and posted a miniscule 0.52 ERA.
Barrick was the only Redwood Empire player honored on the CalHiSportts. Small Schools squad, which consists of first and second teams.
