UPPER LAKE >> Be it ever so humble, a college scholarship is a college scholarship no matter the sport. If you’re lucky enough to earn one, it’s a big financial plus.

Upper Lake High School’s cheerleaders learned about scholarship availability on Wednesday afternoon when Ashley Stubbs, the competitive cheer and dance coach for the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, North Dakota, visited the campus.

“It went extremely well today,” Upper Lake High School cheerleader coach/adviser Tara Aranda said of Stubbs’ talk with the ULHS cheer squad. “Ashley talked about cheer scholarship opportunities and university life on campus. The girls are excited.”

Stubbs is available to visit other Lake County cheer squads. She can be reached at (209) 570-2639 or by email at www.jimmieathletics.com.
