KELSEYVILLE >> First Pick Builders is hosting its second annual charity softball tournament on Saturday at Lakeside County Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and games start at 9 a.m.

Teams from the Lake County Adult Softball League are participating and will donate proceeds to the charities of their choice. The event raised more than $1,000 a year ago.

“Everyone has been looking forward to the tournament this year and is very excited,” said Cheryl Pick, vice president and chief financial officer of First Pick Builders, the driving force behind the tournament. “It is going to be bigger than last year’s tourney,” Pick added.

Pick and Kevin Henderson, president of the Lake County Adult Softball League, have been working out the details and logistics to make the tournament a success, according to Pick. They expect a field packed with players and a full house of spectators cheering them on.

Fans are welcome to donate to their favorite charities during the game. Participants will be fed.

Games will continue throughout the day until the winners are crowned.

Pick said the late date of this year’s tournament is because of the wet winter that left many of County Park’s fields unplayable earlier this season.
