Volunteer at your local Red Cross
The Red Cross will hold a volunteer recruitment fair on Friday, July 28, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Lakeport Fire Department, 445 North Main St., Lakeport.
Red Cross volunteers are trained to meet the needs of those affected by disasters, providing food, shelter, and comfort for families affected by major disasters such as fires, floods, and earthquakes. You can make a difference in your community by becoming a volunteer with the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross relies on generous volunteers who give their time and talent to help fulfill our lifesaving mission.
Volunteers constitute about 90 percent of the total workforce to carry out our humanitarian work. Red Cross volunteers bring help and hope to people in need. Join us and make a difference in your community. We will host a one-stop volunteer fair that includes an orientation, the volunteer application, and a disaster services overview. Lunch will be provided.
RSVP to Nicole Massey, Volunteer and Youth Services Manager, by Wednesday, July 26 at volunteersmm@redcross.org or call (707) 577-7734.
PSC rummage sale
Park Study Club is holding their famous rummage sale again. The club is well known for it’s great annual sale with day to day items, interesting “stuff”, even esoteric treasures, good prices and just about anything you must have to have.
Mark your calendar. The dates are: August 4, 5 and 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The address on GPS does not work, so follow the pink signs or use these directions; Clearlake: Lakeshore to Park St., left on Arrowhead, right on Colusa and we are right there. Please shop till you drop…a nurse will be on duty…
Donations of gently used items, or your ”stuff”, you reluctantly need to part with will be very much appreciated. Please call Candy, cell 904-314-1777, for collection. The club will provide you with a tax form for your donations.
The proceeds of our fund raiser is used for local high school student scholarships, community needs, and providing the American flag at the Austin Park in Clearlake.
Please come to shop, meet a friendly Park Study Club member and have fun. Kids and dogs are welcome. Cookies, treats and drinks will be provided.
