The annual summer passing league closed out its four-week-long run on Monday evening in Lower Lake. The action was definitely up-tempo from previous weeks as the official start of the 2017 high school season draws nearer — next Monday is the first day of practice for junior varsity and varsity players who will soon be fighting it out for starting positions and playing time. At least the players may be catching a break from Mother Nature next week as projected temperatures are expected to fall out of the triple-digit range of the current week. The first weekend for games is Aug. 25-26.
That’s a wrap on summer passing league
