The Lake County Campus of Woodland Community College, located at 15880 Dam Road Extension in Clearlake, continues to offer many robust programs to help launch your career or prepare you for a four-year degree at a University.
Many programs are available that can prepare you for a job with great pay. The Water Treatment program, taught by John Hamner, can be completed in one year, and most of the students who earn the certificate are hired by local water districts almost immediately. Students who have earned a certificate or degree in Culinary Arts are now working at some of the best restaurants in Lake County. A new certificate in Welding is available to help students become certified welders. David Hubbard, who has taught welding at the Lake County Campus for 32 years, has helped many students find great jobs.
The campus also offers degrees that help students transfer to the CSU or UC system to complete advanced degrees. Majors in Administration of Justice, Psychology, Human Services, English, Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, and Mathematics allow students to transfer to a four-year university as a Junior in most cases.
There are many support programs available to support student success. Extended Opportunities Programs & Services (EOPS) is a state program to help students who are financial and educationally disadvantaged. Financial Aid is available to provide support for living expenses while students attend classes. There are programs for Veterans and adult learners who want to earn their high school equivalency or prepare for college and/or a career.
Whatever you are looking for – a new career, enhanced skills, or a new college degree – you can find it at the Lake County Campus. Your future starts here. Fall classes start August 14. For more information call 707-995-7900 or visit LCC.yccd.edu.
