Lake County International Charter School is a non-profit Charter School located in downtown Middletown, providing a free, public education option for all children in grades K-8 living in Lake or surrounding counties.

LCICS was founded more than 12 years ago by a group of committed parents, teachers, and community members. Lake County International Charter School highlights global citizenship, environmental awareness, and visual and performing arts while maintaining state education standards. The inquiry/project-based curriculum promotes critical thinking, compassion, and responsibility.

At LCICS, education is not limited to the classroom or to textbooks. Learning takes place in a variety of settings and through a range of mediums including the many field-trips taken throughout the school year. During the week, children enjoy outdoor learning, and many hands-on activities.

Lake County International Charter School is a community of learners, including students, educators, and parents, committed to enabling all children to live productive lives enhanced by lifelong learning. At LCICS the focus is on educating and nurturing the whole child by utilizing a variety of teaching strategies that address individual learning styles; and by encouraging high-level thinking, communication skills, and personal growth.
