The driver and the female passenger, both of Ukiah, were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries.

The CHP reports that the cause of the collision is under investigation.

The highway was closed for an extended period of time to allow first responders to treat the victims and for the CHP to investigate the scene.
