Ron Raetz (left) was honored during a lights dedication ceremony prior to the annual Red & White Scrimmage on Friday night at Upper Lake High School as athletic director/varsity football coach Mike Smith looks on. Raetz was instrumental in the Lights of Love fundraising project that started a decade ago. The Habematolel Pomo tribe of Upper Lake also contributed $130,000 to make sure the lights were installed this year. Upper Lake plays its first official home game under the lights on Sept. 15.
