Late Tuesday morning, fire crews were quick to stop a vegetation fire that struck the hills near Highway 175 in Lakeport. With the potential to grow rapidly to up to 10 acres, firefighters contained the blaze by 11:45 a.m. at 4.93 acres. Caltrans and a series of construction trucks that worked the area that morning were asked to leave the scene to safety.
