More than 7,500 firefighters are battling 25 large wildfires in California. The largest of these are to the north, including five named fires in Siskiyou County. The smoky haze that has dimmed the views around Clear Lake, as well as the poor air quality in valleys continued on Monday. Cal Fire expects the effects of the fires on local air to continue, but to weaken this week with a shift in weather patterns. – Dave Faries — Lake County Publishing
