ULHS graduate Megan Franco was recently named the 2017 Paul & Otha Alexander Memorial Scholarship recipient. The 18 year-old will receive a $500 scholarship award based on her leadership and character as well as her participation in 4-H and FFA. Franco is a member of the Upper Lake 4-H and FFA chapters. She has earned numerous awards and recognition for her academic and extracurricular activities like Academic Decathlon, Student Government, Cheerleading, Mock Trial, Academic Decathlon and more. Franco intends to pursue a career as an agriculture teacher as it is her “passion,” she says. – CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
