Middletown Clean Up Day needs volunteers
A litter roundup to help clean up Middletown will take place on Saturday, September 16 from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunters will be equipped with “litter sticks” and trash bags and remove trash from the streets. Routes will be assigned. Those interested are advised to bring water and gloves to work with. Time of gathering will be at Hardester’s parking lot at 9:45 a.m. Middletown High School students can earn community service hours.
First CLJH meeting postponed
The first meeting of the season for the Clear Lake Junior Horsemen has been postponed in order to avoid a conflict with the Kelseyville High School Back to School night activities.
CLJH will hold it’s first meeting of the season on Monday, Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Junior Horsemen’s Building at the Lake County Fairgrounds. This is the time for new members to come on board.

American Legion breakfast
Breakfast will be served for $8 on Sunday, October 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Food includes bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee. The October special is French toast. The location will be at 14770 Austin Rd. Clearlake. For more information call 707-994-3677
LWCC is looking for craft faire vendors
Lakeport Women’s Civic Club is hosting it’s 8th annual Holiday Craft Faire on Saturday, November 4 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Kelseyville and they are looking for vendors.
Every year this event is a big success as it accompanied by a huge bake sale offering everything from Kahlua cheesecake to homemade ciabatta bread and Cheryl Robbins of LWCC is always in the kitchen preparing something amazing from fresh muffins and coffee in the AM to hot delicious chile and/or soup in the afternoon.

Requesting vendors to apply
A request for vendors to apply for the 10th Annual Lioness Craft Show in Middletown has been sent out. The event will take place November 17 and 18. The hours will be 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Vendors are selected by a first-come-first-chosen basis (Juried Show). Fire recovery benefit dance party
Saturday, October 21 from 7-10 p.m.: Halloween Spirits dance party at Big Valley Hall, 1510 Big Valley Road, Lakeport. Rock, R&B and soul by Loralee Christensen Band. Wine and beer, juice, treats, raffle and silent auction fill out the dance card.
There will be a dance and costume contests with prizes!

Park Study monthly meetings
Park Study Club meets at noon on the first Thursday of every month beginning in September and ending in May at the PSC Clubhouse. The club is open to new members and is dedicated to raising funds for scholarships, leadership training for local youth, provides the flag that flies over Austin Park, as well as aiding other local charities with volunteer time and donations.
