MIDDLETOWN >> Sophie Kucer scored three times and Kassi Agapoff contributed two goals and an assist to Middletown’s 6-0 non-league girls soccer win over the Calistoga Wildcats on Monday afternoon in Middletown.
“Our goal was to maintain possession and create lots of scoring opportunities off of our crossovers,” Middletown coach Lamont Kucer said. “We did that.”
Middletown, now 7-2-2 on the season, kept the ball on Calistoga’s side of the field most of the game thanks to solid play from midfielders Kucer, Agapoff, Julissa Garcia and Ellie Bazzano, who kept pushing the ball forward.
“We were able to maintain possession with good passes,” Kucer said. “We could have finished better.”
Middletown had the game well in hand by halftime with a 4-0 lead.
Aly Ferguson scored the Mustangs’ other goal and had two assists. Bri Alves and Gracie Armstrong also had assists.
Middletown is home Tuesday to play Cloverdale in a North Central League I game at 5:30 p.m.

Credo 7, Upper Lake 0
At Upper Lake, the first of two league meetings this season between Credo and Upper Lake was dominated by the Rohnert Park school as the Gryphon shut out the Cougars.
“They have a lot of speed and they blew by our defenders a lot,” Upper Lake coach Daniella Santana said. “We had some keeper errors.”
Upper Lake, now 2-5 in league and 4-6 overall, didn’t have many scoring opportunities.
“We really didn’t break through their defense much,” Santana said. “We had six shots on goal.”
Credo led 4-0 after one half.
The Cougars are off until Friday when they host Roseland Collegiate Prep of Santa Rosa at 4 p.m.
