
ST. HELENA >> Five members of the Lake County Channel Cats participated in the Waves Aquatics Napa Valley Endless Summer Classic on Saturday and Sunday in St. Helena.
Finishing strong in the their final competitive meet of the summer season were Channel Cats Nikki Hanson, 17, Emma Larsen, 16, Madelyn Madrzyk, 12, Tori Tropf, 9, and Alora Nieto, 7.
Hanson claimed first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle and 200 backstroke while Larsen placed as high as second in the 100 breaststroke.
Tropf placed fifth in the 100 freestyle while Madrzyk came in fifth in the 50 freestyle.
Competing in her first competitive meet was Nieto, who placed ninth in the 25 backstroke and 10th in the 50 freestyle.
