UPPER LAKE >> Clear Lake rallied from a set down to beat the Upper Lake Cougars 18-25, 25-15, 16-14 in non-league junior varsity volleyball action on Wednesday evening in Upper Lake.
It was the second meeting this season between the two teams, Upper Lake winning the first back on Aug. 24 in Lakeport.
“I thought all three games were played great by each team all around, but one team had to win and this time it was the Cardinals,” Upper Lake coach Dani Paige Gudmundson Pena said.
Molly McCabe served nine straight points to close out the first set for Upper Lake. The Cougars’ setter, Madison Hicks-Brackett, also starred for Upper Lake.
“She did a good job getting the sets up,” Gudmundson Pena said.
Upper Lake plays another non-league match Thursday against Elsie Allen in Santa Rosa.
