LOWER LAKE >> The annual Lower Lake High School alumni basketball games take place Friday at the new gym beginning at 5:30 p.m. Both the boys and girls games are fundraisers for the school’s basketball program.
Fans not only get a preview of the upcoming basketball season at the school, but it’s a chance to see Lower Lake stars of old, including some of the best players in the school’s history.
Among those alumni who have committed to participating on Friday night are Vince Alderman, Eric Freeman, Joe Hughes, Donald Miller, D’vonce Sloan, Jojo Noel, Xavier Miller, Shady Cerezo, Robert Calderon, Shannon Tubbs and Ed Fuchs, and Latoya Fortino, Maile Weldon, Shayna Pike, Holly Ingalls, Billie Boyd, Lily Cuellar, Ashlee Hernstedt, Zobee Miller and Veronica Wilder.
Alderman is Lower Lake’s career scoring leader and fourth all-time on Lake County’s list of scoring leaders. Freeman and Wilder also scored more than 1,000 points during their playing careers. A member of the Lower Lake varsity girls squad this season, senior Aleia Milano, is gunning for the school’s all-time scoring record as she opens the year with 1,145 points.
There will be games of skill with prizes for younger fans, and a 50/50 raffle.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children 5 and younger get in free.

MHS alumni soccer
MIDDLETOWN >> Middletown High School is holding an alumni girls soccer game on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. at the school’s soccer field.
Alumni from years past, including Hannah Diaz, the Mustangs’ career goals and assists leader, will take on the 2017 Middletown squad, one that secured a 10th straight league championship for the school. Diaz is currently a member of the Team USA Under 23 squad.
Following the game, come join the players for a taco bar in the Greenview Restaurant at Hidden Valley Lake Golf Course. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for kids.
Proceeds support Middletown High School girls soccer.
CL alumni basketball
LAKEPORT >> The Clear Lake High School alumni boys basketball games, a fundraiser for the school’s boys basketball program, take place Wednesday beginning at 5 p.m. at the school gym.
Alumni from the Class of 1999 and earlier will battle the 2017-18 junior varsity boys beginning at 5 p.m. Alumni from the Class of 2000 and later will take on the 2017-18 varsity boys starting at 6:30 p.m. The cost for alumni to participate is $25, which includes a T-shirt. Simply show up ready to play.
While there is no admission fee for fans, donations will be gratefully accepted at the door. All proceeds benefit the basketball program.
