LOWER LAKE >> Are you a fan of live theater and would like to get more involved in the local community theater scene? The Lake County Theatre Company, who recently put on the box office hit, “The Producers,” is in search of energetic people who are interested in learning how to direct, produce, stage manage, or run tech.
“Unfortunately, we just don’t have enough people doing the behind-the-scenes work. There is a small handful of us filling these roles, and we need more in order for LCTC to continue being a successful community theater group,” said Tim Barnes, LCTC board member and director.
Barbara Garrett, one of LCTC’s few stage managers added, “A lot of work goes into these shows, but I always end up having far more fun than I expect. Seeing it all come together is really cool, and I am always thankful I got to be a part of each production. It’s also a great way to meet new people and make friends.”
For those interested in learning more about the roles of director, producer, stage manager or technical support, attend the LCTC workshop on December 2 from noon-2 p.m. at the Weaver Auditorium, located at the Lower Lake Schoolhouse Museum’s second floor.
No experience is necessary; one need only have an interest in live theater and/or a desire to become more involved with the arts in Lake County. There is no obligation to commit to a job, rather to learn more about them.
Lunch will be provided. To RSVP, call 278-9628 or email lctcompany123@gmail.com. For more information, visit www.lctc.us.
