LAKE COUNTY >> Kiana Richardson of Clear Lake and Allison Bryant of Kelseyville are the co-most valuable players on the 2017 All-North Central League I volleyball team as selected by the league’s coaches last month.
Clear Lake and Kelseyville tied for the league title this season and the senior Richardson and sophomore Bryant were a big reason why. Both are outside hitters — although Bryant did do some setting for the Knights — and both led their respective teams in kills.
Richardson also made the first team a year ago when the Cardinals finished in second place behind Kelseyville in the league standings. Bryant earned an honorable mention as a freshman.
In addition to co-MVPs Richardson and Bryant, five players were named to the All-League first team, including Clear Lake senior outside hitter Camille Donald and Clear Lake junior setter Kylie Udy. They were joined by Kelseyville junior libero Payton Conrad, Cloverdale sophomore outside hitter Tehya Bird, and junior libero Anahi Yenez of the third-place Fort Bragg Timberwolves.
All-League second teams honors went to Kelseyville junior outside hitter/middle blocker Grace Davidson, Clear Lake senior middle blocker Valerie Hutton, Middletown senior outside hitter Amy Herrmann, Fort Bragg senior outside hitter Cassandra Renteria, Cloverdale senior outside hitter Camryn Figueroa, and St. Helena senior outside hitter Lindsay Martin.
Honorable mentions went to senior setter Tymeka Green of Kelseyville, Clear Lake junior libero Madi Ferguson, Middletown junior middle blocker Abigail Hibner, Cloverdale senior setter Hannah Bireschi, Fort Bragg junior setter Emma Susman, and Willits junior setter Daisy Barrett.
