Create ‘upcycled’ jewelry in a free program at the Lakeport branch of Lake County Library located at 1425 N. High St. in Lakeport on Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. Guests can bring their own old beads, jewelry bits and any other oddments to use and the library will provide some as well. Upcycling is processing used goods or waste material to produce something that is often better than the original. Pieces of broken crockery, hardware, watch parts, keys, maps, greeting cards, fabric scraps, buttons, and bottle caps are just a few of the things that can be used to create unique and inexpensive accessories.
