Dusk
By Georgina Marie
Stumbling through mustard fields
So sweet to me
Searching for something I shouldn’t be
Chasing after
But it takes my time from this orange afternoon
Through the gray of night
And the blue of dusk
Walking through crops, snagging my sweater on husks
As I look for an invisible person,
An apparition hidden in the plants
That will
Fill the void with nothing
But color and sparks,
Bolts and electricity that send
Heart shaped shock waves
Through the rose water my
Body is made up of
It’s morning now and the copper
Leaves outside my bedroom window
Are the only ones
Who found me here
The Underlining Muses
By Georgina Marie
I have a book full of
Unfinished poems
I can’t seem to get
All the way through because
Anxiety
And these migraines chatter my bones and
Make the sound of silverware
Sound like garbage trucks
In the living room
Distractions
I go from
Washing dishes in the tiny kitchen
Then I’m in a hut in Bali
Having an affair as if
Living alone in this small country air
Will someday diminish
Poems
These creative ventures
Imaginative feats of wishes
And longings
Are screaming at me
From the tallest shelf in the house
Telling me
To let them out of the cupboards
And into the real life
Because poems should be life
Water should be life
Living should not be a luxury but a
Mandated act where you’re prohibited
From limiting yourself
To just your imagination
Truth
We all deserve to love and be loved
And put ink to paper
When the aching words come
Flowing out
Even if we don’t finish the thought
Tree Falls
By JoAnn Saccato
Tree falls
Earth rumbles
Heart swells
Tear falls
Chainsaw purrs
Tree falls
Earth rumbles
Heart swells
Tear falls
