UPPER LAKE >> The historic Tallman Hotel will host two festive Gingerbread House Decorating Events on Saturday, December 9. These run from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Perfect ways to celebrate the holidays, the Gingerbread House Decorating Events are fun for children of all ages. Each participant will receive an assembled, undecorated gingerbread house.
The Tallman will provide the royal icing, candy, tips and techniques so guests can create their very own gingerbread masterpiece. Holiday cookies, hot cocoa and cider will be served. The cost is $40 per person for adults and children. Reservations are required and early bookings are recommended as seating is limited.
Guests will gather in the Riffe’s Meeting House.
Santa Claus is coming to town
Jolly old St. Nick will be at the Tallman Hotel on Saturday, December 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Photos with Santa will be taken by the Tallman’s beautiful Victorian Christmas tree and 5”x7” keepsake photos are available for $15. Reservations are not required.

Christmas coming to Kelseyville
Kick off the holiday season with the 27th Annual Kelseyville Christmas in the Country, Merchant Open House and Parade of Lights, sponsored by the Kelseyville Business Association, on Friday December 1 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Main Street.
Come at 5:30 p.m. and greet old friends and meet some new friends. The Main Street Merchants will welcome you in to their stores to enjoy holiday treats,hot cider and cocoa, as you stroll through town with Christmas music filling the air and smiling happy faces everywhere.
The largest and oldest light parade in Lake County will begin at 6:30 p.m., with Santa leading the parade, followed by the town tree lighting at the Kelseyville Firehouse. Santa will be in Westamerica Bank across the street with music by the Bridge Band and a visit and photo with Santa.
Kelseyville Presbyterian Church will have their famous Chowder and Chili Dinner, St. Peters Church will have hot dogs, beans, tamales and other goodies, Kelseyville Methodist Church will have music and treats. The Sawshop Gallery Bistro will have a miniature quilt display.
Kelseyville merchants are proud to present this evening of old fashioned holiday cheer.

8th Annual Christmas Craft Faire
Big Valley Hall (formerly known as Big Valley Grange) is holding its 8th annual Christmas Craft Faire on Saturday, December 2 from 8-4 p.m. at the hall, 1510 Big Valley Rd, Finley. All proceeds fund Agricultural Scholarships at Kelseyville High School, in memory of long-time members Virginia Sills and Ruby Glebe.

Craft faire at Senior Center
Lakeport Senior Center is having its Christmas Crafts Faire Saturday, December 2, with doors opening at 10 a.m.. Over 20 local artisans will fill the entire center with their handiwork, including hand-painted ornaments, tabletop wood lighted Christmas trees, wire-wrapped jewelry, knitted and crocheted items, leatherwork, yard art, dolls, aprons , and more.
Home cooked soups, chili, hot dogs, spiced cider and hot cocoa will be available all day to soothe appetites.
Prize winning raffle tickets will be drawn every hour beginning at 11 a.m. Proceeds support the Meals on Wheels program of Lakeport Senior Activity Center. The center is located at 527 Konocti Avenue in Lakeport, and can be contacted by phone at 263-4218.
